Donation Delivery Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2025

This policy explains how donations made to Stablish Giving Fund are processed, held, and granted to charities.

1. Donations Made to Stablish Giving Fund

All donations made through Stablish Giving Fund programs are considered final charitable contributions to Stablish Giving Fund, which is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity (Federal Tax ID: xx-xxxxxxx).

Donors may recommend a charity to receive their gift. Recommendations are reviewed under the Donor Terms of Service.

Donors receive a date-stamped receipt for every donation.

All grants are made in accordance with Stablish Giving Fund's policies, applicable laws, and regulations.

Pending distribution, donations are held in a secure, non-interest-bearing bank account.

2. Enrolled Charities

Donations granted to enrolled charities ("Participating Nonprofits," as defined in the Nonprofit User Agreement) are processed on a monthly schedule, typically around the 25th of each month.

In most cases, donations are granted within 10 to 90 days of receipt.

Enrolled charities receive funds via Stablish, providing fast, efficient, and cost-effective delivery.

Charities can view donation details (including donor information, unless the donor chose anonymity) through their Stablish Giving Fund dashboard.

More information is available in the Nonprofit Certification Policy.

3. Unenrolled Charities

Donors may recommend grants to charities that have not yet enrolled.

Before funds can be granted, Stablish Giving Fund will:

  • Verify the charity against the Nonprofit Certification Policy;
  • Confirm its identity and complete due diligence to ensure it does not promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, money laundering, or illegal activity.

Stablish Giving Fund will notify unenrolled charities the month after a donor first designates them, inviting them to enroll.

Multiple attempts (email, mail, phone) are made to contact unenrolled charities.

If the charity does not enroll, Stablish Giving Fund will attempt to grant funds by other means (e.g., check) within 90 days.

If payment cannot be delivered (e.g., check not cashed), the charity may be removed from the directory and the funds reassigned (see Section 6).

4. Expedited Payments for Disasters

In response to natural disasters, humanitarian crises, or emergencies, Stablish Giving Fund may accelerate grant payments to eligible charities providing relief.

Only charities meeting the Nonprofit Certification Policy are eligible.

Certain regulatory checks are still required and may affect timing.

5. Grants from Cancelled Donations

Donations to Stablish Giving Fund are final and irrevocable. Refunds are only issued in exceptional cases under the Donation Refund Policy.

If a refund is required after funds were already granted, Stablish Giving Fund may offset a future grant instead of requesting repayment from the charity.

6. Reassignment of Certain Donations

Stablish Giving Fund retains exclusive legal control over all donations. While every effort is made to grant funds per donor recommendations, funds may be reassigned if:

  • The charity fails to meet certification or due diligence standards, or
  • Funds cannot be delivered (e.g., check not cashed).

Tax-deductible status of the donation does not change because the original gift was made to Stablish Giving Fund.

Whenever possible, donors will be contacted to recommend another enrolled charity.

If donors do not respond, funds may be reassigned to:

  • A charity in the same cause area as the donor's original recommendation, or
  • A broad humanitarian organization, if cause alignment is unlikely.

Preference is given to enrolled charities to ensure efficient, secure delivery.

Example:

If a grant to an unenrolled local education nonprofit cannot be completed, funds may be redirected to an enrolled national education charity.
